Course summary Year 1 of the economics degree lays the grounding for studies, equipping students with the fundamental techniques needed; introduces the hottest up-to-date topics in the field; in years 2 and 3 students apply the skills learned to measuring the performance of economic systems large and small; students also start to be introduced to the intricacies of probability and prediction, and the problems of uncertainty; in each year of the French course, students take compulsory language modules; in addition to choosing a number of optional modules, some thematic in character and some more traditionally chronological in approach; modules in aspects of linguistics and in the language of current affairs and business are also available; French language classes are taught in French.
